Market Report

Just back from High Point and full of ideas & suggestions for you:

COLOR

  • While neutrals are still predominant, several color trends emerged among the showrooms. Standouts include a new take on TEAL. Darker than turquoise, more intense than the old teal of the eighties. Call it what you will - Indian Teal, Dark Turquoise - we just couldn't get enough of this color at Market. We loved it so much that we painted a room here at Traditions as soon as we got back.

  • STRAWBERRY - Not pink, not red, not salmon. A pleasing color that blends with all of the aforementioned.

  • CHARTREUSE - Yellow-green that you will either love or not love. But either way, it will surprise you how nicely it works with your existing colors.

NEW LINES

We picked up several new and exciting lines to broaden our offerings here at Traditions.

Sherrill Furniture: Upper-end sofas and chairs with great fabric selections

Lillian August: Upper-end upholstery and beds. Just wait til you see our mirrored poster bed.

CTH: Beautiful casegoods - side tables, cocktail tables, bookcases, and media pieces. A Sherrill Company. Modern History: A new take on a classic company. You will just have to see it!

WHAT WE BOUGHT A WHOLE LOT OF: Chandeliers & Lighting

We want to be your main source for lighting...great selections of hard-to-find flush mount light fixtures for eight foot ceilings, unique chandeliers and pendants. This market, we added Robert Abbey lighting to our sources - come see this beautiful and functional line, arriving later this spring.

Noteworthy Trend:

Lillian August is quoted as saying that this is the era of the interior designer. With all the available resources for furnishings and accessories, designing a house has become complex. Many people need interior designers...that's how Sharon and Sarah can help you. Call us today or stop by to hear about our design consultation service.
