A Message from Sharon:

Twenty years ago, in 1992, I started a small interior design business called Traditions Interiors.

For the first few years, Traditions was located in the sunroom of my home. From the sunroom, I moved first to a space at the original Interiors Marketplace in South End, then to a small shop on Mockingbird Lane, next to the back court of Park Road Shopping Center, and now to a 5,000-square-foot store in Park Road Shopping Center at the corner of Woodlawn and Park roads. Over the past 20 years, we have seen many changes in Charlotte’s retail climate.

As a one-woman owner and, for many years, a one-person employee, I have done everything from the ground up: Paint walls, take out the garbage, clean the windows, pay the bills, order inventory, merchandise the store and do consultations, among a variety of other tasks.

Currently, Traditions employs five full-time employees and four part-time employees. We exceeded our sales goal this year, and have set a new, higher goal for 2012.

Throughout the year, we are going to host a variety of events to commemorate 20 years in business. Please consider joining us for these events.
